On this page, you will find answers to our most frequently asked questions regarding the ongoing availability and support of the Frequency Agile product line. Why is FA being discontinued?

The Inovonics Frequency Agile (FA) product line is approaching end-of-life due to general component obsolescence. For over 15 years, the FA product line has met the needs of Inovonics customers in a multitude of applications, from security to signal and control. While we have attempted to maintain the product line as long as practical, recent economic conditions have hastened the obsolescence of many low-volume components which are used on the FA product line by our suppliers.

Is there something wrong with FA?

No. It is still the reliable technology you have come to trust from Inovonics for the last 15 years. Existing installations will continue to operate according to specifications with no concern for product quality or reliability.

Will there be a change to lead times for FA products?

At this time, we do not anticipate any extra delay in our ability to get products to you beyond our standard lead times, which are:

• 1 week for all FA orders with product in stock
• 4 weeks for all FA orders with product not in stock
• 8 weeks + for all FA orders with product not in stock and insufficient materials on hand to build
  

When are FA products no longer available?

FA products are no longer available after September 1, 2011.

Final orders for the FA product line must be received by September 1, 2011. This does not apply to FA duress pendants (see following section for details regarding system maintenance parts). Details for final orders are below:

• Orders for FA products listed below will be accepted until September 1, 2011.
• All FA orders will be shipped by December 31, 2011.
• Lead times on orders may exceed 8 weeks and will be dependent on volumes and production schedules.  We will ship products as they become available, but will not be able to accommodate delayed shipment requests.

Purchase orders received in August and September will be non-cancellable and non-returnable.

What FA products are going obsolete?

Will any FA parts still be available for system maintenance?

We will continue supporting the following part numbers. Please be aware that the continued availability of these products is dependent on further component obsolescence and demand.

What is the long-term support plan for FA?

There is no change to the warranty offered on our FA products. We will make reasonable efforts to repair or replace all FA products sent in for service until 12/31/2013. Products sent in under warranty will take priority, as we cannot guarantee that we will be able to repair product sent in out-of-warranty due to insufficient resources. Repair charges will also apply to out-of-warranty products sent in for service.

General warranties are as follows:

• FA security products - 24 months
• FA submetering products - 14 months
• FA temperature products - 14 months
• FA OEM products - 12 months

Is there a replacement for FA?

The more advanced EchoStream product line has improvements in range, ambient RF resistance and simplified installation. An EchoStream equivalent exists for nearly all FA products. Please see our equivalency chart for the current list. Keep in mind that while our FA and EchoStream products do not work together, they can work side-by-side with no interference.
