Boulder, CO, August 25, 2000—Inovonics Corporation today announced the availability of the TapWatch™ Data Concentrator and Communicator (DCC), which collects meter read data for billing companies. Designed by Inovonics for use with the TapWatch wireless submetering system, the DCC is a reliable, cost-effective replacement for the traditional personal computer.

The DCC decodes and stores information from Inovonics FA5200 series transmitters via the receiver at submetering sites. Service technicians are able to do site data entry, data retrieval, trouble-shooting, and information updates in the DCC by using TapWatch 2 software. Billing companies have the flexibility to automatically retrieve the data from each site DCC or create their own software to manipulate the data by creating a custom interface.

TapWatch wireless submetering equipment is designed specifically for the multi-family environment. This fully automated system allows daily reads, so that moves, additions, and changes can be made without visiting the site. TapWatch, based on Inovonics-proven 900 MHz wireless technology, is used by major REITS such as Mid-America, AvalonBay, Summit Properties and many others.
